The second bracket of our Two Bosses Enter, One Boss Leaves battles begins with an unusual matchup: Mal’ganis (The Culling of Stratholme) versus Ormorok the Tree-Shaper (The Nexus). We’re not quite sure what you lore fans are going to do with this one — but we’re ready to hear what you’ve got in the comments. Even if you don’t have a scenario in mind, be sure to click through and vote for who you think should move forward into the next bracket.
Before we get too deep into this week’s battle, we’d like to thank the readers who commented about our lineup last week on our Bracket 2 listing. We’ve decided to take your votes to bring back any three of your favorite losing underdogs for the next bracket. We’ll do that at the end of this bracket.
Now — let’s get ready to rumble!
As always,

All the World’s a Stage, and all the orcs and humans merely players. They have their stories and their characters; and one man in his time plays many roles.
Ever since word broke about the possibility of playing either a worgen or a goblin, I’ve been thinking a lot about how it would be to roleplay them. In terms of lore, each one fits in very nicely — the goblins have the neutral city of Undermine not far from the great Maelstrom at the center of the world, and the worgen have lots of connections to other dimensions, possibly the Emerald Dream. Assuming the expansion is in fact going to be a combination of the Maelstrom and the Emerald Dream, each race could have a lot to do with why the Horde and the Alliance are eager to go and continue the adventure after Northrend.
Some others are talking about how and why these races would join either faction. The goblins seem a shoo-in for the Horde, since they’ve already got so many connections with one another above and beyond the ostensible neutrality the goblins maintain between the Horde and the Alliance. The

Blizzard’s “new” approach to the endgame is nowhere more apparent than right here in Guildwatch: final endgame bosses use to only be the domain of world firsts and sponsored guilds, but one look through our Downed section this week shows that even casual guilds can now roll all the way up to Yogg-Saron and take him out. Sure, Algalon, that “destroyer of raids,” is still no pushover. But the endgame is definitely much more accessible than before.
That downed news can be found after the link below, along with all of the drama and raiding news we’ve received lately from around the realms. Click on to read this week’s Guildwatch, and feel free to send us your tips at guildwatch@wow.com — you might see them right here next week.

Congrats to Coven of the Harbinger on Shadowsong-H — they celebrated their four year anniversary at the end of last month. Almost as old as the game, way to stick together.
This thread, originally about Continuum on Aegwynn exploiting something in Ulduar, is really a dead horse, but it’s worth

So as you may have seen if you follow WRUP, I’ve been trying on and off for months to summon up the energy to get through the tournament on my Death Knight. It’s not that I don’t want it, but the Argent Tournament dailies just aren’t my favorite. The quests are lacking life and excitement, and the lore is sort of tepid. When it comes time to solo, I find myself retreating to a leveling alt rather than doing the same old boring dailies over and over again. I’m pretty sure it’s not even the repetition of dailies that’s doing it either. I used to do the Shattered Sun dailies over and over all the time without a care, just because they were so much fun.
But with the announcement of new dailies to be opened to people with enough faction in Patch 3.2, I’ve felt like I need to make that final push. However, it wasn’t until a few days ago that I finally kicked myself into gear, and I’m now at a week and counting of doing my tournament dailies every day without fail. The reason? The background downloader went up.
Now, I

Welcome to Know Your Lore, where each week Alex Ziebart brings you a tasty little morsel of lore to wrap your mind around. Sweet, sweet lore. Mmmm. Have suggestions for future KYL topics? Leave a comment below!
As I mentioned previously, Maiev Shadowsong is one of my favorite characters in all of Warcraft lore. When I said that, the statement was quickly met with the cries of people calling her all sorts of unpleasant names. And you know what? That’s the beauty of the character. Sometimes, not all good characters are people you would sit down and have a beer with. In fact, some of them are downright nasty people. I wouldn’t go that far with Maiev, but I think it’s okay that she’s not a peaches and sunshine sort of character, especially considering what’s been done to her.
Yes, Know Your Lore has covered Maiev before, but now it’s my turn. Elizabeth and I have pretty substantial differences of opinion on the Warden, so I don’t think you’ll mind too much.
During the War of the Ancients, thousands and thousands of years ago, Maiev

Warning: This article does contain spoilers for the Argent Coliseum Raid. If you want to be surprised, skip this article!
There’s a pretty long thread going on in the General Forums right now that makes an interesting request of the dev team: Let us lose. The argument goes that we’ve been sort of steamrolling our way through massive challenges and insurmountable odds pretty much the whole raid game, and it’s just getting boring. Nothing feels like a threat anymore. We know we’re going to defeat it and move on. We need to shake things up.
The more I think about it, the more I like it. Why not let us be on the losing side, at least for a few patches? The Lich King himself could use a bit of help in that vein, for sure. The early leveling game did manage to conjure up a few heart-stopping moments where Arthas “let us win,” but when it was time to take that to the next level, it seems like Blizzard’s sort of backed off and gone stale. Now, we’re holding a Ren Faire on his front lawn while his scourge mostly mills around aimlessly and

15 Minutes of Fame is WoW.com’s look at World of Warcraft players of all shapes and sizes – from the renowned to the relatively anonymous, the remarkable to the player next door. Tip us off to players you’d like to hear more about.
There are couples who play together, and there are couples who play together. Jen and Mike, members of <The Panic Attacks> on Scilla-US, fall into the latter category – so much so that perhaps their playstyle doesn’t accurately qualify as “playing together” at all. More accurately, Jen and Mike play as one, sharing the controls to seamlessly guide their mutual character, FertZane, through Ulduar and all the rest of WoW’s endgame content.
A rare disability called arthrogryposis keeps Jen wheelchair-bound and binds the couple’s gaming together. The congenital disorder causes joint contractures, muscle weakness and fibrosis and leaves Jen with quite limited use of her arms and legs. Nonetheless, she says she’s always loved video games because it was something she could enjoy as long as she

The Colosseum takes us inside the world of the Gladiator (Brutal, Vengeful, Merciless, and otherwise), to interview some of the top Arena fighters in the battlegroups. Our goal is to bring a better understanding of the strategy, makeup, and work that goes into dueling it out for fame, fortune, and Netherdrakes.
Ickmon from Executus is a 2200+ ranked Priest, working in both the 2v2 and 3v3 brackets. The changes to Arena rating requirements, Resilience, and balance in patch 3.2, however, could mean a lot of big changes for Arena players like Ickmon. Despite the uncertainty of change, though, this Priest isn’t particularly worried about the changes — he thinks that things will be fine, and the new Resilience benefit might be a good thing.
We were able to spend some time talking with Ickmon about his team, playstyle, and those 3.2 changes. Check out what he had to say behind the cut.
WoW.com: Why did you choose to play a Priest?
Ickmon: It was the first class that I leveled to 60. I’ve played many different classes. I’ve played a Rogue, Warrior, and Druid.

BlizzCon approaches! Preparing for BlizzCon is your regular source for tips on how best to prepare for Blizzard’s gaming extravaganza.
The last time I went to BlizzCon was two years ago and I was woefully unprepared. I regretted multiple times that I didn’t have some form of business card with me. But this year I am ready if Tommy Tallarico approaches the WoW.com writers again asking for cards. Squeeeeeeee!
It was particularly silly of me to not bring any sort of card, considering I went there to work. But even if you are only going to play, a minicard or the like is a very good idea. I used moo.com because they have a good reputation and a nice interface with flickr.
Why should you get a minicard?
It’s great for promoting your blog or other online product/service if you have one. (Captain Obvious is tapping his foot.)
Business cards are often used as entries for contests or other opportunities at events like this.
Networking, networking, networking. Cards as introductions and networking tools have been used for centuries. If you meet someone you would like to
