We got an email from a reader concerned with the amount of time he spends playing WoW. It seems to be negatively impacting his school and social lives. Most of us manage to balance out WoW time with our real life obligations, but there is a strong possibility that addiction can set in. I cannot stress enough the importance of balance.
I think that one of the keys to keeping both your WoW life and your real life balanced is by identifying your priority list. Every once in a while do a reality check and make sure you’re keeping it in line. For me WoW sits somewhere between work and sleep (then again, I’ve never slept much). My guildies know that I will not be on on Friday nights, that’s “sister time.” I do play WoW when I’m on work trips, but I never go anywhere particularly exciting.
If you find that you’re having trouble with focus on the real world, or your seriously considering making your own WoWPod, you may need to make some adjustments. You can try keeping a calendar to schedule your play time around your outside obligations. You may

Ah yes, the sinking feeling you get when you see that someone has ninja’ed your guild bank… and it’s your guildmaster. Never a good thing, for the guildies, the GM, or the guild. Actually, it’s a great thing for the GM — they get to walk away with thousands of gold (and most of them, through some twisted logic, even think they deserve it). That’s why I recommend you do what I do: pack all of your ingame stuff in a virtual mattress somewhere. Sure, your guild might not appreciate a lack of bank contributions, but at least it’ll be safe, right?
The story of the picture above and much more drama, downed and recruiting news all in this week’s GW. Click the link below to read on, and if you’ve got news for us (everything but recruiting, please — we are uber full on that one lately), hit us up at guildwatch@wowinsider.com.
DRAMA
Apparently the guild that used to be Having Fun Yet on Moonrunner is in chaos — the GL took a break from a little while ago, and left the guild in the hands of what she thought were two

Our friend Drayner has posted an open letter to Blizzard over at Twinkinfo.com in which he basically laments the breaking of WoW’s twinking game. We’ve covered twinking quite a few times before here — it’s the game-within-a-game of beefing up lower-level characters to their maximum power using enchants, low-level items, or whatever else they can find. Officially, Blizzard hasn’t endorsed or condoned twinking — if you want to do it, you’re free to, but you’ve got to live with the rules they set on items and enchants, and so forth.
And that seems to be Drayner’s main issue with Blizzard: they aren’t consistent on twinking. They’ll make changes that level the twink field, and then they’ll ignore bugs that almost completely break it. They kept the latest enchants off of players below level 60, but then they grandfathered in players with the 450 profession buffs. He’s got a whole list of changes they’ve made for and against twinking, and basically asks Blizzard to either support twinking, or (and

This installment of All the World’s a Stage is the thirty-second in a series of roleplaying guides in which we find out all the background information you need to roleplay a particular race or class (or profession!) well, without embarrassing yourself.
Blacksmiths are known for being brawny folk — hammering pieces wow goldof metal together is not easy work after all. But in World of Warcraft, even the smallest gnome or scrawniest elf can be a great blacksmith. Azeroth is a land where even the smallest people can wield the biggest of axes, so it would follow that they could craft them too, as well as any other sort of armor or weapon that they could imagine.
Typically, however, even in Azeroth, blacksmiths are, by and large, members of a class that can use plate mail and heavy weapons, such as a warrior, a death knight, or a paladin, just as tailors are usually spellcasters of some kind. So even if a blacksmith appears scrawny on the outside, he or she is very likely still quite brawny on the inside. Underneath that elf’s pretty skin are muscles of steel!

Every evening there’s a guy on my server who spams looking for group for an “experienced” group to do the Less-rabi and Make it Count Heroic Dungeon achievements. This has been going on for weeks now. I kind of feel bad for the guy. Some of the dungeon achievements are harder than others, but these have clearly been a pain for him. He really wants the Glory of the Hero achievement, and I hate the Occulus enough that I really can’t bring myself to help him.
I never hear him complaining about the achievements being difficult, he just keeps at it. It’s actually quite admirable. My guild has a few overachievers in it. We usually do the best we can to lend them a hand, but they seem to grind endlessly to earn their points.
I don’t usually go off in search of achievements, but there’s one I just can’t seem to get. Since I’m playing Druid it seems appropriate to get the Guardian of Cenarius title/achievement. The problem is not that it’s difficult, but since my character was created after WotLK was released, I have no Cenarian

15 Minutes of Fame is our look at World of Warcraft players of all shapes and sizes – from the renowned to the relatively anonymous, the remarkable to the player next door. Tip us off to players wow goldyou’d like to hear more about.
Playing WoW is an exercise in organization. You need to organize your bank, you bags, your gear, even your talents. You need to plan which dailies you need today, which factions you’re grinding and where you need to farm for what. Oh, and don’t forget to check your banker and update your auctions.
Legend of the Alliance from Eonar-EU has ridden methodical organization from scratch to the top of the PvE game. The two-year-old guild has climbed from a chatty, rag-tag gaggle of newbies to a lean raiding organization thanks to careful planning and guidance. We visited with GM Loverose about the guild’s history, its custom web site functionality, and the mature, methodical leadership that has steered its course.
15 Minutes of Fame: We understand that Legend of the Alliance has its roots way back in n00bdom. How did the guild

To misquote Terry Pratchett, if you put a big red button somewhere in Azeroth with a huge painted sign over it saying “END OF THE WORLD SWITCH – DO NOT PRESS!”, the paint wouldn’t even have time to dry before you’d have three gnomes arguing about who gets to hit it first. In this shot, the gnomish curiousity of Crazyazell of <The Silver Wind Knights> on Bronzebeard might be producing fatal results, as she prepares to pilot her flying machine into the top of the Nexus. There’s a good reason why Death Knights need to stay away from the light, Azell!

Ulduar is finding its match in many guilds this week — more than a few folks are heading into the new content and making it their own. But here at GW, we appreciate all clears — whether your guild is just starting out in Naxx, has finally cleared the place out like the ragtag group of raiders above, or is taking wow golddown progression content in Ulduar, a down is a down. Grats no matter what you’re completing.
Lots of drama and recruiting in this week’s column, too, as always. And you can see your guild here in the future, too — our new address is guildwatch@wowinsider.com, so send along some news if you’ve got it.
DRAMA
Cheshire Cats of Sisters of Elune-A recently celebrated their fourth birthday in late April. They’ve even survived a server transfer and some drama, but they’ve stayed a small and happy roleplaying guild. We heard they had a fun get-together in the Pig and Whistle — congrats on the anniversary, and hope the event went well!
Tre Konor on EU Kilrogg broke up, and the drama meter is all over the place. Things

So what happened to all those Noblegarden rabbits that were hopping around just a week ago? For Ayalafatalis of The Sentinels, his brief foray into bunnyhood ended in a bright new future as a squashed rabbit carcass. Ah, the beauty of the food chain in action.

Welcome back to The Queue, WoW Insider’s daily Q&A column where the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky will be your host today.
On this Monday morning I have come to realize one important thing: a picture is worth a thousand words.
Clearly, TMNT > Power Rangers. For shame Alex, for shame!
Romir asked…
“I just switched my off spec for my Death Knight to a tank spec. However I’ve never really tanked before, what would be the best heroic to go into to learn to tank? I have wow goldan uncrittable set I got from raids/off-spec rolls. I know most of the dungeons, I just need practice. Which would be best to start in?”
Please don’t start in a heroic. You want to take baby steps. First, go out to someplace and see that you can successfully control multiple mobs. Make sure that you have the basic mechanics down. After you’re confident you can keep things focused on you, then head into a low-80 non-heroic instance. Hell, you might even consider doing a few rounds of regular Violet Hold. Get to
