DK textures

DK textures   Can Death Knight’s textures be mandatory, Please.   So far the only players that use them is the horde, the players not using them is all of the alliance and some BE’s.   and BTW, the mohawks for the alliance really shows their immaturity. If I’m not miss taken the horde always used them, Trolls, Orcs, Goblins.   The High amount of gnomes and night elfs with mohawks really lowers the value of the game.   well, that and all the female only Draenei DKs and human males with the BE ponytales. This is just beta. I’ll throw up when this goes live and it’s all I see, and then just flat out quit.

Switch out between two specs?

Switch out between two specs? Spoken like DPS. /sigh You do the same job 100% of the time.   Do you know how refreshing it has been on beta to have people say “Hey, Kryste, you tank or healer?” and I can reply with “for 1c? I can be whichever you need.” And groups aren’t starving for that tank or healer, they can FIND ONE.   Now, on live, I can’t be nearly as willing to do that. Especially since, as prot, I’m not farming gold.   So *what* if you can change your spec. If you’re a fire mage, for example, and you need 15 primal fire right now, I know mages that just spend the 50g to respec, especially since they can make the money back in 30 minutes.   The classes this *really* helps are hybrids, who’d LOVE to be hybrids, but get tired of spending 100g to do anything in the game.

Custom Weapons Vendor

Custom Weapons Vendor   I didn’t see a suggestions forum, or i’d have put this there, but i was wondering what people thought about a Custom weapons vendor.   The short Version: How Cool would it be to have a Master Weaponcrafter make a weapon for you that is One-off, and can grow and be customzied with your Character?   Let’s Say… a Vendor that Sells a certain kind of weapon for 50 badges(Hammers, Swords, Maces, Shields, etc.   I’m going to put this in level 70 values, so it’s sort of easier to follow along with.   The weapon starts off Plain, both Looks wise, and Stats wise. In BC terms let’s say a melee weapon would start out at 84 dps, completely devoid of stats. All start at 2.0 speed for non daggers. Setting it -.1 or +.1 speed costs 10 badges, to a Minimum of 1.7, and a maximum of 2.7. Reserve Speeds slower/higher than that for BS Crafted weapons, Raid Drops, and PVP weapons. A 2 dps increase costs 15 badges. 10 str costs 10 badges, same for crit rating, haste, etc etc. Various Levels of procs for 25 badges. Obviously

WoW Insider Show Episodes 58 and 59: Rogues and BlizzCon

WoW Insider Show Episodes 58 and 59: Rogues and BlizzCon We’ve got a lot of WoW Insider Show to cover — last week, we were so embroiled in the BlizzCon run-up that I didn’t have a chance to post about episode 58, and episode 59 was actually taped right in the front entrance of the Anaheim Convention Center on Friday evening. Episode 58 featured our newest columnist, Chase Christian, and we talked about Rogues (obviously — that’s what he writes about), Blizzard’s big win against MMO Glider, and the reasons why you still have your honor points and tokens. And in episode 59, we talked BlizzCon, because we were right there — Gnomewise and Duncor joined me inside the convention center, and we had short cameos from both WoW Radio folks (Maxspeed was around to talk to us), Starman from World of Warcast, and we were able to talk to some fans, too. It was really fun, too — we should do that more often. So you’ve got two shows to listen to if you haven’t been keeping up — episode 58 and episode 59 are both over on WoW Radio

Stuff of legends: Old Ironjaw

Stuff of legends: Old Ironjaw   Now that the race of achievements has officially begun, players are going to great lengths to rack up some points. Some achievements are dead-easy, while others are going to take some work. Enter the fabled fish of Ironforge, stage left. [Old Ironjaw] is spoken of only in whispers, deep in the dwarven taverns. Rumors speculate that he is uncatchable, but this will not deter you. After all, you rival the legendary Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme with your fishing prowess. Getting down to business, it is important to set out prepared. If you are a member of the Alliance, all you will need to do is cast your rod into either the waters of the Mystic Ward or the Forlorn Cavern in Ironforge, and expect to be there for awhile. Don’t worry about your actual fishing level; skill is for chumps. For the Horde, the achievement Old Ironjaw will be much more difficult. Preparation will require the affectation of humility. You must accept that you will die and that you will probably have to grovel. Try donning your best fishing or fancy holiday garb to appear as

Player housing

Player housing The problem with World of Warcraft and having some sort of actual player housing is that every open space in the game already has a purpose. Most everything that I’ve seen in this game has some purpose or another, and that purpose would be ruined if someone up and placed a house there.   Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against player housing, in fact I would love nothing more than to have player-built towns everywhere, like back when I played SWG. I was part of a community there, and it was awesome. Player housing worked very well in SWG.   However, the reason that it worked so well in SWG is the same reason that it wouldn’t work at all in WoW. That reason is content. SWG had very little content, and lots and lots of open space. Every planet was around 15 square kilometers, and most of that space was empty. Left lots of space for player housing. WoW, on the other hand, is a very content-rich game. Like I said before, just about every place has a purpose already, and those that don’t would be too small to hold any sort of non-instanced

A pet collector’s guide to the Darkmoon Faire

A pet collector’s guide to the Darkmoon Faire Even if you haven’t been a long-time collector of non-combat pets such the Azure Whelpling, the Spirit of Competition, or the Phoenix, now is the perfect time to begin. On October 14th, when patch 3.0.2 descends, so does the achievement system, and with it, “Shop Smart, Shop Pet…Smart,” the achievement for collecting 50 non-combat pets. The reward is of course, another non-combat pet, along with achievement points to help you feel 1337. The Darkmoon Faire offers you the opportunity to easily and cheaply acquire three of the five frog pets in the game. While you’ll have to shell out a bit of money, you might be able to make a profit in the end. For higher levels, the cost won’t even be noticeable. Here is what you can acquire: 1.      [Wood Frog Box] 2.      [Tree Frog Box] 3.      [Unhatched Jubling Egg] that will transform into [A Jubling's Tiny Home] after one week. Vendor frogs The easiest frog to get at the Faire will be the Tree Frog. While you are enjoying the

A sneak peek at the BlizzCon floor

A sneak peek at the BlizzCon floor   Our good friends at the Orange County Register were lucky enough to be let into BlizzCon yesterday (we’ll be on the floor in just a few hours here), and they’ve got a preview gallery of what it’s like in there up on their site right now. There’s nothing super revealing in there, but there are lots of pictures of vendors setting up, and the various stages they’ll have at the event. The Illidan statue from last year is making a re-appearance, and he’s joined by someone Starcraft fans will want to see. We can’t wait to get in there — Diablo 3 will be playable, and of course we’ll have coverage from all the panels, tournaments, and booths inside the convention center all day today and tomorrow. The Opening Ceremony starts at 11am PST, so stay tuned here to watch our coverage as it goes down live.

Slight Modifications to Engineering ideas

Devs, I posted this earlier in what turned into a QQ and flaming thread about lack of equality in professions, so I copied it and pasted it here, hoping it would start a discussion more specifically directed at the idea. I would love user feedback on the idea as well, but please keep posts to constructive ideas and additions about the idea. Seeing the new inscription shoulder enchants makes me wish that instead of a craftable headpiece, that you could affix Goggles to your current helm, giving us effectively a craftable head enchant. This would fit well in line with the other changes to engineering that allow us to modify existing gear instead of crafting pigeon hole items like we have in the past. Doing this would allow not only enchants for tanking, DPS, healing etc. but would also perhaps give Blizzard a way of re-introducing some of the things we miss like Mind Control Cap, Water breathing and so on. While no one would put Water Breathing head enchant on their primary tanking helm, it would still be nice to slap the enchant on recently replaced piece of plate, rather then the
